Putting my PVR through its own Olympic performance trials this week. Perfect for recording all the Olympic midday events for later viewing – except Team Canada hockey. No way to get home from work in Canada without seeing or hearing a final hockey score spoiler somewhere along the way. That mission’s impossible.

Got to love the Canadian snowboarders. Despite Mark McMorris fracturing his rib and Maelle Ricker fracturing her forearm, they both still plan to compete at the Olympics. Now that’s some true north grit!

Canada Post announced this week that it will eliminate door-to-door mail delivery over the next 5 years. Understandable … though still hard to imagine the passing of the mailman … Then again, every time I walk past the bricked-over, milk-delivery box at my side door, I still can’t imagine a time when milkmen delivered milk door-to-door … I think I’ll just leave my mailbox up as another sign of the changing times. Change is indeed the only constant.

Congrats Toronto! Ranked 4th best city in the world to live in. Have to remember that the next time I feel inclined to complain about the city garbage collectors going on strike … or getting stuck downtown in a blackout … or having to go for an MRI at 2 a.m. in the morning … probably shouldn’t whine about the small stuff when the big picture looks this good.
